In observance of World Diabetes Day, we have undertaken several initiatives across sub-Saharan Africa to raise awareness, provide patient education, and promote healthy lifestyles. These efforts included conducting a Mega Diabetes Camp, which offered free detection and treatment to over 300 patients. In Bukavu, we organised a Walkathon to encourage physical activity, along with patient counselling sessions to promote healthier lifestyle choices.
We also launched a dedicated diabetes webpage, offering a valuable resource for patients to access crucial information and support. As part of our commitment to advancing diabetes care, we partnered with the Ministry of Public Health Hygiene and Prevention Secretariat to organise the National Diabetes Control Program in Kinshasa, where over 200 diabetologists and physicians participated.
Additionally, we proudly participated in the Inaugural Diabetes Symposium, organised by Dr. Patrick Muanda, Diabetologist, Delta Hospital, Lubumbashi, where we showcased our innovative solutions to improve diabetes management. Together, we are working to tackle the growing diabetes challenge and improve health outcomes across the region.
