Composition:

  • Moxyclav Duo 228.5: Each 5ml of the reconstituted suspension contains: Amoxicillin 200mg, Clavulanic Acid 28.5mg
  • Moxyclav Duo 312.5: Each 5ml of the reconstituted suspension contains: Amoxicillin 250mg, Clavulanic Acid 62.5mg
  • Moxyclav Duo 457: Each 5ml of the reconstituted suspension contains: Amoxicillin 400mg, Clavulanic Acid 57mg

Indications:

Amoxicillin-clavulanate is indicated for short term treatment of bacterial infections at the following sites

  • Lower Respiratory Tract Infections
  • Acute Bacterial Otitis Media
  • Sinusitis
  • Skin and Skin Structure Infections
  • Urinary Tract Infections
  • Bone and joint infections
  • Other Infections e.g., septic abortion, puerperal sepsis, intra-abdominal sepsis

 

Dosage:

  • Children: Otitis media, sinusitis, lower respiratory tract infections: 45mg/kg/day (200 or 400 mg/5ml suspension) or 40mg/kg/day (250mg/5ml suspension).
  • Less severe infection: 25mg/kg/day (200mg or 400mg/5ml suspension) or 20mg/kg/day (250mg/5ml suspension)

Side Effects:

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The common side effects associated with Moxyclav Duo use are diarrhoea/loose stools, nausea, skin rashes, urticaria, vomiting and vaginitis.
