Ketazol shampoo contains an antifungal medicine called ketoconazole, which is used to treat and prevent dandruff. It is also used to treat dry or greasy scaling of the scalp and other parts of the body and irregular white to brown patches which occur on the body and sometimes appear after being in the sun (tinea/pityriasis versicolor)

Composition:

Ketaconazole 2% w/v Shampoo

Indications:

Ketazol Shampoo is used to treat infections caused by a fungus or yeast. It works by killing the fungus or yeast or preventing its growth. It causes the cellular components of fungus to leak thus resulting in fungal cell death.
Ketazol Shampoo is a medicine used for prevention and treatment of dandruff caused by fungal infections of the scalp, as well as for the relief of associated symptoms such as flaking, scaling and itching.

Dosage:

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has suggested. Ketazol shampoo is for use on your hair or skin only.
Ketazol Shampoo is to be applied twice a week for first four weeks and thereafter once a week or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist
– Wet your hair and scalp with water
– Apply shampoo and form a generous foam (lather)
– Leave it on for 5 minutes
– Rinse thoroughly
If the scalp is not cleared or the effect is not seen within 4 weeks of treatment, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Shampoo is for external use only.

Side Effects:

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Ketazol Shampoo is generally well tolerated. Undesirable effects of Ketazol Shampoo are itching, stinging, or irritation. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. However, check with your doctor if any of these side effects continue or are bothersome.
