Composition:

Each 5ml contains Cefpodoxime 50mg

Indications:

  • Infections in the ear, nose and throat area
  • Tonsillitis, pharyngitis, acute maxillary sinusitis, acute otitis media
  • Respiratory infections
  • Acute community-acquired pneumonia/ bronchopneumonia, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis
  • Uncomplicated urinary tract infections
  • Acute, uncomplicated urethral and cervical gonorrhoea
  • Acute, uncomplicated anorectal infections in women due to Neisseria gonorrhoeae
  • Infections of skin and soft tissues

Dosage:

Cidox suspension: Reconstitution and Administration

  • Shake the bottle well to loosen the powder. Slowly add boiled and cooled water upto the mark on the bottle and shake well. Add water if necessary to adjust the volume upto the mark
  • Store the reconstituted suspension in the refrigerator at a temperature 2°C to 8°C. Use the reconstituted suspension within 7 days
  • Shake the suspension well before use.

 

Cefpodoxime suspension

  • Infants and pediatric patients (age 2 months through 12 years)

Side Effects:

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The common side effects associated with Cidox use are stomach upset, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, bloating, diarrhea, and allergic reactions.
