We are committed to empowering the next generation of medical professionals through the Rising Stars Program—a platform that enables resident doctors to showcase their clinical expertise through case studies evaluated by senior experts. Beyond recognition, the program provides invaluable mentorship, fostering the growth of future healthcare leaders.
Now in its fourth year, the Rising Stars Award – Season 4 took place in Nigeria on February 11, 2025, bringing together 184 young doctors from 17 hospitals to present innovative dissertations.
Ten finalists competed for top honours:
- 1st Prize: Dr. Akinola Odedeyi, Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, Ile-Ife
- 2nd Prize: Dr. Ruquayya Nasir Sani, Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano
- 3rd Prize: Dr. Ifunanya Ebiekpi, University of Uyo Teaching Hospital, Uyo
Distinguished guests, including Dr. Benjamin Oluwatosin Olowojebutu (1st Vice-President, Nigeria Medical Association), Opeyemi Abisola Akinyele (Head, Nigeria, Shalina Healthcare), and Amitav Basak (Head, West Africa, Pharma, Shalina Healthcare), graced the event.
