Composition:

Each film coated tablet contains Azithromycin 500mg

Indications:

Acute bacterial sinusitis
Pharyngitis/tonsillitis
Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections
Urethritis and cervicitis
Genital ulcer disease in men
Community-acquired pneumonia
Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Skin and skin structure infections

Dosage:

Adults

Upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections and Otitis media: 500mg once daily for 3 days
Uncomplicated sexually transmitted diseases: Single 1g dose

Paediatric Patients

Acute Otitis Media: 30mg/kg given as a single dose or 10mg/kg once daily for 3 days or 10mg/kg as a single dose on the first day followed by 5mg/kg /day on Days 2 through 5.
Acute Bacterial Sinusitis: 10mg/kg once daily for 3 days.
Community-Acquired Pneumonia: 10mg/kg as a single dose on the first day followed by 5mg/kg on Days 2 through 5.

Side Effects:

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The common side effects associated with Azymin are anorexia, constipation, dyspepsia, flatulence, vomiting/diarrhoea, paresthesia, fatigue, malaise and rash.
