Shalina Healthcare is undertaking a sizeable investment in our manufacturing plant in India, to build capacity in our creams and lotions manufacturing.
Our manufacturing plant is a 100% Export Oriented Unit and was designed to accommodate rapid future expansion. It currently has annual capacity of 2.5 billion tablets, 1.3 billion capsules, 150 million tubes of cream and 40 million bottles of ointment.
Over the last three decades, Shalina has provided sustainable access to quality and affordable medicines across Africa. To make these medicines available on time and in full quantity, we are enhancing our annual capacities by 290 million tubes of cream and by 36 million bottles of lotion.
The investment will cover a new state-of-art formulations plant for creams and lotions manufacturing as well as a dedicated warehousing block. The design of the factory building is conceptualized based on easy and efficient material handling from raw materials to finished goods. Personnel movement is clearly defined and segregated to avoid cross movement of people. The facility is supported by a world class quality testing lab.
The plant is designed on cGMP and WHO guidelines. It is a fully automated, closed manufacturing concept so that the finished product is made with minimal human intervention.
The ground breaking ceremony of the expansion took place on 13th December 2015.
