Indications

General : Ketalin can be used as : A single anaesthetic agent; particularly suited to short operations. with repeated injections or when used as an I.V. infusion, prolonged anaesthesia can be achieved for several hours, An inducer of anaesthesia before the administration of other anaesthetic agents, potentiates mild anaesthetics, such as nitrogen protoxyde. Obstetric: Ketalin can be used alone or in combination with other anaesthetics

Dosage
The dosage should be adjusted by the anaesthetist. However, it can vary depending on the route of administration. Induction : 0.12mg / kg of body weight per minute.Maintenance : 0.08mg to 0.12mg / kg of body weight per minute. Direct IV route : induction : 1 to 5mg / kg of body weight per minute ,Maintenance:0.5mg / kg of body weight, injection as required. IM route induction : 8mg / kg of body weight. IV infusion of a solution of 500mg of ketamine in 500ml of isotonic solution
